In the latest comparison on Nexano, admission prices in Swiss zoos and animal parks can be compared daily for adults and children.
Zoos and Animal Parks across the Country
There are around 125 different zoos and animal parks in Switzerland. Measured by visitor numbers, the zoos in Zurich and Basel are the most popular. These two largest zoos in Switzerland currently record around 1.2 million visitors per year. Officially, there are five scientifically recognized zoos in this country: Basel Zoo, Zurich Zoo, Dählhölzli Animal Park in Bern, Goldau Nature and Animal Park, and Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park. They meet international standards in the areas of species protection, research, and education.
However, the picture is broader: Around 120 other publicly accessible animal enclosures – including small zoos, aviaries, wildlife parks, or stork stations – complement the offering. These places are often regionally rooted and offer visitors insights into the animal world, albeit mostly without the scientific claim of the large institutions.
